DAMN. Avril Lavigne is being sued for copyright infringement. w00t? Apparently her song "Girlfriend" was originally written AND PERFORMED by a little known 70s band. The link has sound clips from both songs... sadly I'd have to say that the song is so crappy that Avril actually improved on it. But it's still funny.

Cool, maybe we'll see each other there! We'll be staying either in the Marriott or the Hyatt this year... we decided we're moving up and staying in one of the main hotels... though we're not much richer this year than we were last year... >_

We don't actually have a room yet, but from what I gather I THINK we'll be having about 7 people in the room already... but again, I'm not sure. When I know more I will definitely let you know. heard about it, too. i think its a great song no matter who wrote it. i know it's a bit simple of me, but can't she just change it from "written by avril" to "written by random 70's band"? singers and song writers swap songs everyday and have been doing it for cebnturies. our own patriotic songs in america just sung this week -- half of them are british in origin.

avril still pwns the song, and i will still listen to it.

She should have done that in the beginning... but since she didn't, I guess that's why there's a lawsuit happening? Her name is already in all the CD linings all across America... the only thing she could do about that is make a public statement saying that everyone who owns a copy of that CD needs to take a sharpie and cross out her name and replace it with "little known 70s band". ;P
